Timeline
A second-by-second overview of the incident.
The incident timeline provides you with a second-by-second overview of the events that took place during the incident. In addition to the timeline, you can also leave comments on the timeline to provide additional context to the incident and collaborate with other team members.
Timeline events
There are certain events that are automatically being logged during an incident and some manual events that you can add to the timeline.
Automatic events
Event | Description |
---|---|
Incident created | The incident is created and the incident details are filled in. When an incident is created, the respective notification channels will also be notified. |
Incident resolved | The incident is resolved. When an incident is resolved, the respective notification channels will also be notified. |
Heartbeat failed | The heartbeat failed. The location from where the heartbeat was attempted will also be included. |
Heartbeat recovered | The heartbeat recovered. The location from where the heartbeat was attempted will also be included. |
Notification sent | A notification was sent to the respective notification channel. Depending on the notification channel, additional information is shown, such as the email address or Slack channel. |
Screenshot taken | A screenshot of the incident’s URL was taken and is available. |
Manual events
Event | Description |
---|---|
Comment added | A comment is added to the timeline. The author will be visible next to the comment. |
Incident acknowledged | The incident is acknowledged. The person who acknowledged the incident will be included in the details. In case it has been acknowledge by phone, the phone number will be shown instead. |
Postmortem | A postmortem is added to the incident. If it has been generated by AI, it will be visible in the event. |
